Post-frame (Pole Buildings)
This method offers the best value per square foot of any residential framing method, and can make anything you imagine a reality. They offer a good dollar value and quality along with ease of installation.
Post-frame has more lumber than in a Traditional frame and the basic model meets most Building Codes without upgrades or additional costs. This is a good framing method if you’ll be finishing the interior or want additional features such as a Lean-to, Porch or Horse Stalls.
Our post frame buildings are designed to be of the highest quality to last over the years. The standard for our post frame buildings includes setting the posts and trusses 4′ foot on center, however, we can customize the plans depending on our customers’ needs.
This is our preferred method of building and is recommended for “Do it yourself” customers.

Stick-Built (Stud Wall Frame) Conventional Buildings
This is the other method we use to build. Although many people have built living quarters or an entire house with the post-frame method, this method is worth considering if your project, or part of it, will be occupied as a residence or business. “Stick-Built” is also ideal if you want a basement or want more than 2 stories.
Stud walls allow for attachment of sheetrock/drywall interiors and plywood exteriors without the need for additional framing. Our design is a “clear span” which allows for large open spaces and flexibility for laying out rooms. Studded walls are 16 inches on center.
A continuous concrete footing is required for this framing method, which is an additional cost, but it also offers some advantages. The floor won’t be subject to frost heave which could crack sheetrock finishes and damage plumbing lines that pass through the floor. It’s also easier to properly heat and cool. The standard for a conventional building is setting the trusses 2 foot on center and studded walls 16 inches on center.
If you desire a building constructed on a concrete foundation with studded interior walls, this method is for you.
Footings are used to support the building and prevent it from settling. In colder climates, it’s important that the footing extend below the “frost line” so that the building isn’t subject to frost heave. Footings need to bear on undisturbed soil, which is important to consider if your building pad is located on a sloping grade. With Post Frame, longer columns (poles) can be furnished where required to achieve a proper footing depth.
In “Stick-Built” the foundation is a concrete slab which is poured before the building is built whereas in “Post-Frame” construction, the foundation of the building are the poles. The concrete is poured after the building is built at the bottom of holes.
Flush Mounted Wall Girts is the standard wall framing method we use and it works well for most building applications. The other methods are useful for some types of siding or if the building is well insulated with finished interior walls.
